Plans to restructure Courts in Northern Ireland

by Diarmuid McKeown on Sep 10, 2018

A recent review of the Court system in Northern Ireland has resulted in a suggestion that recourse to Justice should be more amenable to those living outside the Belfast area. Proposals are being considered for 4 Civil Hearing Centres to be established in Armagh, Coleraine, Omagh and Belfast. Such an initiative can only be seen as beneficial to all concerned with the Justice system in Northern Ireland. The need to travel shorter distances will lead to less inconvenience and expense for all court users. It will also assist all professionals working in the courts to become more efficient and cost effective in delivering their services to the public.
